A little imagination.
A clear set of rules.
Our scoring is visible and deterministic. There is no hidden rarity, official assignment, or psychological diagnosis.

What we designed
Twelve original situations ask how you respond to uncertainty, responsibility, and change. Each has four choices. The six resulting portraits are Emberheart (courage), Rootkeeper (care), Stonewright (craft), Open Flame (curiosity), Quiet Compass (clarity), and Nightwatcher (conviction). Their names, meanings, and associations with colors are this site’s creative choices. They are not a reconstruction of the novels’ dragon personalities.
How a result is chosen
- Each choice gives two points to one archetype and one point to another. The remaining archetypes receive zero. All twelve questions have equal total weight.
- We add the points for each archetype. The highest total wins; no percentages or population rankings are calculated.
- If totals tie, we compare what the last selected answer gave those tied archetypes. Only those with the highest points on that answer remain. We repeat backwards through the earlier answers as needed.
- If every comparison still ties, the fixed order is red, green, brown, orange, blue, black. This final fallback is public and is not a ranking of value.
The same full set of answers always produces the same result under this version. There is no random roll, daily seed, payment, account history, or official game information in the calculation. Changing an answer can change the result. Every archetype has a verified complete answer path; that does not imply each result is equally common.

This is a conversation starter for Fourth Wing readers and book clubs. It is not a validated psychological instrument. Choosing a particular dragon archetype does not mean that color would choose you in the official game, that a dragon is rare, or that your choices reveal a canonical rider. There is no better result. Our cards are labeled “UNOFFICIAL FAN QUIZ RESULT.”
Your answers and sharing
Your answers are kept in this tab’s session storage so you can return to an unfinished quiz. Use “Clear & restart” to erase them. Completing the quiz clears this progress. If browser storage is unavailable, the quiz works until you reload. We never add answers, names, or player journal data to result links.
We use the site’s existing Google Analytics for page visits and quiz events: start, complete, copy, share invocation, share handoff, download invocation, and clicks to guides or this creator kit. Event fields are limited to the rule version, public archetype ID where applicable, and a fixed entry type. We do not send answers or existing player profiles. A browser share handoff does not prove a post was published; a download click does not prove a file was saved.
Copying or sharing sends a public archetype link to the destination you choose. Cards contain only the archetype, original illustration, and public site address. Read the site privacy policy for the analytics provider and browser controls.
Sources and creative boundaries
The official Dragonkind website and official Threshing Day website identify the official experiences. Our sourced dragon types guide separately labels book and player information. No official dialogue, book excerpt, official artwork, or competitor questionnaire was copied into this quiz. These links give context; they are not endorsements of our scoring.
Versions and corrections
This page documents version 1.0.0. The six stable result URLs describe the same original archetypes when shared or reopened. A change that fundamentally alters their meaning will use a new version path instead of silently reassigning old links. Send a question or correction to support@threshingday.org.
