A reading recommendation, a spoiler-safe character index and a sourced edition comparison in one place. Choose your next book or the exact version you want.
The Threshing Day book brings together thirteen riders’ stories around their bonding day. The official collection site identifies it as a companion rather than the next continuation after Onyx Storm. That distinction matters if you are deciding what to buy after finishing the main novels. A companion can revisit familiar people and situations without supplying the next installment of the ongoing plot.
What this guide helps you decide
Start with your progress through the main novels. Then check the named perspectives if a particular character is why you are interested. Finally compare the exact print or audio listing before choosing a format. These decisions are collected here so you can make them without opening multiple short pages. This guide avoids chapter plots; the thirteen names below are the perspectives identified in published descriptions, not an invented table of contents.

Can I read the Threshing Day book first?
The publisher also presents the collection as an introduction option. Choose that route only if learning later-series information in advance is acceptable to you. If surprises matter, follow Fourth Wing → Iron Flame → Onyx Storm → Threshing Day. Reading earlier is a preference decision, not a different chronology that this guide has verified. We have not mapped every chapter’s spoilers to individual pages in the main novels.
Reading order is different from chapter order
A recommended order for separate books does not establish the sequence of the thirteen stories inside the collection. Follow the contents and notices in your actual edition. Do not rearrange chapters from an alphabetical character index or from audiobook credits. If you are buying for someone else, ask which main novels they have finished before sending them an excerpt.

How to use this index without plot spoilers
Use the names to confirm whether a perspective you want is listed. The groupings make a name easier to find; they do not classify characters by importance or tell you what happens to them. A publisher’s cast description is sufficient to establish this named index, but not to write a scene summary. We do not turn a performer credit or a cover illustration into an unverified plot claim.
Where can I read Xaden’s official sample?
The author’s Xaden excerpt is a story sample. Open it when you are ready for plot details, rather than while checking a spoiler-free purchase question. The rest of this Threshing Day book guide remains useful before opening the excerpt: you can choose a reading order, compare two audio productions or identify the UK deluxe ISBN without reading the scene.

Which Threshing Day edition has color illustrations?
The identified UK limited deluxe hardback lists sixteen full-color illustrations and silver-gilded edges. The same publisher page describes a later standard edition with black-and-white artwork under a different ISBN. Match 9780349450612 if those UK deluxe features are why you are buying. This does not establish the finishing on a US, translated or ebook edition. An ISBN and marketplace are more useful than a cover photo shared without a product link.
What should I check in an ebook listing?
Check language, publisher, storefront and the illustration description for that exact digital product. A physical deluxe feature does not automatically transfer to a digital file. Also check your intended reader or app before purchase. This table does not supply an unverified ebook ISBN or claim an illustration count for a file we have not inspected. The author’s official purchase links can help you locate the product in your market.
Why is the dramatized release later?
The two audio listings refer to separate productions. On 5 October, GraphicAudio lists 13 October 2026 for its dramatized edition. That is a dated listing, not a promise that every marketplace will release it simultaneously. If you want to listen now, inspect the purchase page’s availability label; if you want the dramatized production, check its producer and narrator credits before choosing a currently available item with a similar title.

Choose a production, not just a “full cast” label
Both product descriptions credit multiple performers. If a particular voice matters to you, compare that named performer rather than assuming every cast audiobook has the same actors. Listen to each product’s own sample when offered. A sample from one production cannot demonstrate the pacing, voice or effects of the other. The credits above are selected comparisons, not a claim about total cast size or printed chapter order.
Use the collection for the companion stories it advertises. If your goal is the main-series reading experience, start with the recommended sequence above. A character index, excerpt and companion do different jobs; none changes the publisher’s description of this book. Avoid choosing from a search result that labels every Empyrean release as the next numbered sequel.
Can I compare prices here?
This guide compares identifying features rather than maintaining a live price feed. Compare the final delivered price, currency and exact edition in your own marketplace. A membership trial price and a one-time purchase price describe different offers. Shipping, taxes and availability depend on the destination. Use the edition identifiers above to make sure two prices refer to the same item.
What can I do after choosing an edition?
Keep the ISBN or production name in your reading notes, then use the reading-progress selector to decide when to start. For a shared reading session, agree your spoiler boundary before searching for individual character scenes. If a friend is still on Fourth Wing, send them the reading-order section instead of an excerpt. A decision about format can be made without giving away a plot.
Where is the Threshing Day game?
The Dragonkind game guide covers the interactive experience. Reading this book guide does not create a game account, and a game result is not a chapter guide. When you are ready to play, the game guide brings together access checks, retry questions and result-field explanations; scene choices are covered by the separate answers tool.
